Turnstyle Designs – Bow handles

Featured on our home page scroll, these handles are manufactured in England and produced from the finest bridle leather stitched and bonded by highly skilled craftsmen. Although uniform, each piece is unique and will develop a rich patina, depending on usage, as the natural emollients from your hands add to its character.

Check out the specs on p 46 of the Turnstyle Designs catalogue.

FROST: The Whole “Story” by Hans Frost

According to the FROST “Story,” the motivation behind the creation of this minimalist line has always been to provide hardware whose design is simple yet functional.

Our association with Hans Frost began almost a decade ago. Since then we’ve promoted the line and watched it grow from mainly cabinet hardware to emerge as one of the premiere names in architectural accessories.

We invite you to learn the whole “Story” by visiting the new FROST website. You’ll find it’s easy to navigate and extremely informative. Check it out. Be inspired. Then let the IRONMONGER‘s knowledgeable Staff bring FROST designs straight to your door.

Ironmonger News

Ironmonger, the brainchild of John Hurst, was the first distributor of modern European hardware in the United States, literally introducing iconic product manufacturers like DLINE, HEWI, FSB and MODRIC.

Closing in on its 37th year, Ironmonger is pleased to recognise Liz Cherco and Deb Waller as co-owners and business partners who have been overseeing the day-to-day management of the company for the last couple of years. According to John Hurst, founder and retired president, “I cannot think of any better qualified personnel to take over the Ironmonger operations.” The pair share a combined 30 years of experience which leaves them exceptionally well positioned in this specialized market.

Now, if you’re wondering about John Hurst, Sources close to him say that he’s agreed to construct a ‘blog’ on the company’s newly rehabbed website. He’ll design the area sans walls, doors, windows and other entrapments. Thoroughly Gestalt, it will be an unconfined free space where lines and angles appear to meet unconventionally; where you’ll find a premiere 1974 Ironmonger Catalogue, shiny white pressboard jacket with jet coloured letters, strewn across a Le Corbusier Chaise lounge covered in natural hide.

So, if you’re looking for a little diversion, check out John’s blog (Coming Soon) and find out just what exactly the original ironmonger has on his mind. A word of caution, this is not a blog for the faint of heart.

Based in Chicago, Ironmonger continues to serve as the leading Source for European hardware in the USA.
